The fakes tend to have a purple plug; the real ones have a black one. The fake ones are also over heavily (crudely) patterned. Another common copy is the MK4 IV hot pink styler.Third, now most of you want open a GHD up and attempt your own GHD repair but if you did you would also see that all the internal circuit boards on a fake GHD have soldered points, the real ones have mainly screw fixings.Most GHD repair companies will not look at them because if they fix them and then the irons cause damage or explode those companies take on the liability for the damage.
