2,4,6-Trichloro-5-fluoropyrimidine is a chemical intermediate for preparing other chemicals.

 

Application of 2,4,6-Trichloro-5-fluoropyrimidine

2,4,6-Trichloro-5-fluoropyrimidine can be used to synthetize 2, 4-Dichloro-5-fluoro-pyrimidine. The reaction proceeds with reagents Hydrogen, Triethyl amine, catalyst 5 % Palladium on carbon and solvent Ethyl acetate. The reaction temperature is 30 °C. The yield is around 87 %.
2,4,6-Trichloro-5-fluoropyrimidine could be used to prepare 4- (3-aminopyrazole) pyrimidine derivatives for use as tyrosine kinase inhibitors in the treatment of cancer.
2,4,6-Trichloro-5-fluoropyrimidine could also be used to prepare {2-(alkyl)-3-[2-(5-fluoro-4-pyrimidinyl)hydrazino]-3- oxopropyl}hydroxyformamide compounds and their pharmaceutically acceptable salts, corresponding pharmaceutical compositions. Such compounds are useful in the inhibition of bacterial peptide deformylase activity and in the treatment for bacterial infections.

 

Synthesis of 2,4,6-Trichloro-5-fluoropyrimidine

The starting material is Tetrafluoro-pyrimidine and the reagent during reaction is Hydrogen chloride. The reaction time is 4 hours under 160 °C. The yield is approximately 60.8 %.
